About Us

Please be advised that as of January 1, 2025, Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit and Peterborough Public Health will merge to form the Haliburton Kawartha Northumberland Peterborough Health Unit. This is our legal name only.

We are currently undergoing a process to develop a new brand identity that will also include a new name. This will take us several months to finalize. During this time, you will continue to see logos and other marketing material with the Peterborough Public Health branding. You may also see some documents using our legal name Haliburton Kawartha Northumberland Peterborough Health Unit.

Partners and members of the public should continue to engage with their local public health offices as usual until otherwise directed. All communication channels including emails, faxes and office locations remain the same until further notice.

Public health is shaped by our social, economic and physical environments, as well as by our personal choices. Through community programs and by developing better health policies, Peterborough Public Health works to improve the living conditions of those in need for the benefit of all.

We serve residents throughout the City and County of Peterborough, as well as Curve Lake and Hiawatha First Nations, and offer a wide range of programs and services ranging from healthy eating workshops, poverty reduction initiatives to controlling infectious disease outbreaks, water safety and oral health and sexual health clinic services.

Peterborough Public Health (PPH) is a registered charity!  For further details on how you can contribute to local programs and initiatives that could not continue without your generous support, click here.
